During field hockey season, my legs are always sore and I have a tan line from my shin guards and a million and one bruises from the ball but I wouldn't trade it for the world! I made varsity sophomore year and became a starter. At the beginning of sophomore year, I changed my position from a forward to a midfielder. It was was an adjustment because at the midfield position there is a lot more running then at the forward position and at midfield, there is not a lot of opportunities to score goals. I like plating field hockey because it is therapeutic and just very fun to play! I began playing the sport in 5th grade. I played in middle school and during my 8th grade year, I was captain along with my friend Lauren. I hope to become captain for the high school team my senior year. I have very good endurance on the field and I am also very fast to the ball.
Practice: Practice begins with a 2 mile run and agillities. We then split up into JV and Varsity and do ball work as well as passing combinations and practicing penalty corners. We end practice with sprints. Game Days:Game days are fun and exciting. We play two 30 minute halves in a game. States: our first state tournament game is 11-4-2016 against Notre Dame Academy. This expected to be a very good match up! Achievements This Season: As a team, we had the goal to go undefeated and win EAC championship. We achieved these two goals and just have one more to accomplish! As a team we would like to make it past the first round of tournament! SB defeated Notre Dame, achieving our third and final goal of the season, to make it past first round of tournament. We fell to King Philip in the quarter finals after going into double overtime and strokes.
